Working alone, I solicited input from students, faculty, and staff through a series of mock-ups and surveys to develop a redesigned website for Southern Arkansas University. The University’s traffic was nearly 40% mobile, but the old design was not mobile responsive. The new design emphasizes three things: branding, mobile, and speed. With nearly the same page size, the redesigned website loads nearly 200% faster with code optimization, minification, and distribution of assets across CDNs and multiple domain names.
The site is a custom WordPress theme based on the Genesis Framework and Bootstrap and was rolled out campus wide of the course of six weeks.
